Facing the ever-expanding volume of scientific knowledge and limits on the time
for assimilation, the eleven medical schools in Australia and the two in New
Zealand have collaborated to create the Women's Health Collaborative Core Curriculum.
Although initially created as a teaching aid for undergraduate medical students the
future vision is the development of a website with resources for any healthcare
worker involved in Women's Health.
The Collaboration has been financially supported by grants from the Committee
for University Teaching and Staff Development and Pharmacia Australia. Other
support has been generously given by the Professorial Heads of Obstetrics and
Gynaecology, Joe Murray Advertising, The Royal Australasian Society of Surgeons.
We would like to thank Ms Jane O'Day also for her helpful comments on "Violence
Against Females". Design and development of the Web Site was made possible through
a grant from Monash University Department of Information Technology. Monash
University also provided the following facilitators for the project: David Healy,
Robert Burrows, Beverley Vollenhoven, Euan Wallace, Kym Fraser, Lydia Weilert
and Anne Ellison.
