Profile of new graduate with reference to women’s health
Graduates of the National Core Curriculum in Women’s Health are expected to
have:
- Effective knowledge, skills and attitudes for practice
- An empathetic approach to women and their health in the socio-cultural context
of their lives
- The desire to provide quality and equitable healthcare for women
- The ability to work effectively in a team
- An approach to life-long learning
- An appreciation of ethical issues related to women’s health;
- An ability to practice ethically;
- An awareness of the need to deliver optimal care within available resources
- An awareness of medico-legal issues
- An appreciation of the value of research and its application to clinical
practice;
- Effective communication skills
- The ability to recognise and practise within their limitations
- The ability to reconcile personal and professional life
